Abstract

Sizing adhesive compositions for coating fibrous web material comprise phenol-aldehyde resin, cryolite and water. The compositions are prepared by forming a dispersion or an emulsion of a solid and/or liquid resinous phenol-aldehyde condensation product in water and adding a filler. Other specified fillers are whiting and clay.
