Abstract

621,072. Feeding webs; typewriters. HOLLIS, C. P., and BROWN, W. H. Oct. 10, 1946, No. 30238. [Classes 100 (i) and 100 (iv)] [Also in Group XX] To feed webs of paper, or photographic films without slip, the webs are fed between geared teeth which form corrugated tracks at each edge of the web. As applied to a typewriter in which an impression is printed on a web d and transmitted by carbon paper to a copy e, the webs are given movements of different amounts between the impressions by means of a pair of gear-wheels a, c for the web d, and wheels b, c for the web e which is finally wound up on a spring drum g. The gear-wheels may be rotated by the tension of web d in the direction of the arrow A, or by the drum g acting upon the web e. The gears c are mounted in spring- pressed levers i, and the web e passes over guide rollers f, h. The invention is applicable to the feeding of films in cameras and cinecameras.
