Abstract

620,561. Cable terminals. AIRCRAFTMARINE PRODUCTS, Inc. Jan. 23, 1947, No. 2087. Convention date, March 20, 1946. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] A connector comprises a ferrule 24 telescoped over and crimped on to a conductor 26a, a first part of the periphery of the crimped ferrule having substantially its uncrimped shape, the remaining part being pressed into the space subtended by the first part by dies 39, 40. The conductor may be solid, as shown, or stranded, Figs. 1-4 (not shown), and may be preformed if of hard metal, such as piano wire or phosphor-bronze, by means of subsidiary dies incorporated in the dies 39, 40, Fig. 8 (not shown). The connector is stated to be corrosion resistant and to this end the dies are preferably highly polished. Suitabledimensions of the dies in relation to the diameter of the uncrimped ferrule are given with reference to Fig. 8 (not shown).
