Abstract

619,713. Agricultural implements. HENDERSON, W. M. Dec. 20, 1946, No. 37466. [Class 6 (i)] Relates to a rotary cultivator attachment for a tractor of the type comprising a frame 10 carrying a plurality of rotary hoes 13a spaced across the width of the frame and carried on vertical spindles 12 geared to a common transverse driving shaft 14, the frame being attached to the tractor by links 22, 23 which permit the attachment to be raised and lowered. According to the invention, each spindle 12 carries at its lower end a ring 13 to which the hoes 13a are attached, adjacent spindles being rotated out of phase with one another to avoid collision between the rings. The transverse shaft is driven through gearing 16, 21, and through a shaft 17, from a power take-off on the tractor. The attachment may be raised and lowered by a lever (not shown) on the tractor, acting through links 24 and 25.
