Abstract

619,321. Windscreen-cleaners. TRICO PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Dec. 2, 1946, No. 35682. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1945. [Class 138 (i)] The blade of a windscreen-cleaner comprises an elongated body 9 with a wiping edge 10 extending lengthwise thereof, a spring leaf 12 which is bent to zig-zag or undulating form and incorporated in the body so as to cause the wiping edge to conform to the shape of the surface being wiped, and a torque-resisting member 13 attached to the spring leaf. The body 9, which is preferably formed of rubber, is provided with a longitudinal chamber 11 for receiving the spring leaf. The member 13 is in the form of a spring strip or leaf secured by welding to the crests 14 of the leaf 12. The leaf 12 rests upon a spring strip or leaf 17 which may be welded to one of the crests 16 of the spring 12 or have its ends turned upwardly so as to hold it from longitudinal displacement. The clip for attaching the blade to the actuating arm is connected through the body 9 to the composite spring member.
