Abstract

618,211. Centrifugal machines. HOWDEN & CO., Ltd.. J., and LEE, L. Nov. 4, 1946, No. 32629. [Class 23] A multi-cell dust collector has a structure comprising a hopper 13 for the reception and collection of separated dust, a plurality of dust separator cells 10 within the structure and mounted for the discharge of separated dust directly into the hopper 13, a dusty-gas inlet conduit 11 and a clean gas outlet conduit 12. An independent dust separator 16 is connected by at least one conduit 14 to a point 15 adjacent the inlet conduit 11 and is arranged to receive gas discharged from the cells 10 into the hopper 13 from a position above the collected dust in the hopper. A circulating fan 17 maintains air flow through conduits 14, 18, 19, the flow being controlled by a damper 20. The arrangement sets up a depression in the hopper and prevents into-flow between the cells.
