Abstract
617,469. Steam generators. DRURY, W. F. Oct. 2, 1946, No. 29388. [Class 123(ii)] In a low-pressure steam generator 1 adapted to be heated by, e.g. an electric immersion heater 2 and to be supplied with water from a closed feed water tank 3 through a pipe 8, the level of water in the generator 1 and tank 3 is controlled by a float valve 4 and the pressures therein are equalised by a pipe 10 of appreciable volume. The latter extends from the steam space of the generator to below the normal water level 6 in the feedwater tank and is provided with a relatively small wall aperture 12 above the said water level. The pipe 8 is fitted with a stand pipe 9 for limiting the pressure within the generator.
