Convention date, Sept. 21 1945 [Classes 110 (i) and 110 (iii)] A turbine or compressor drum rotor is built up of a number of discs, preferably of light metal, which are secured together at the periphery by a number of rings d shrunk or forced over adjacent half-circular radial pins c. The pins may be the means for centering the discs or the discs may have spigot-and-socket engagements e in which the less stressed disc embraces the other. The pins or the surrounding parts of the discs may be caulked and the caulking may be such as to entirely embed the rings. The discs may have axial bores to relieve the discs of interior pressure.
