616,338. Dividing by fusion. KUNKLER, L. E.. COOK, V. A., and BALTIMORE, I. S., (trading as METALLIZING CO. OF AMERICA). Dec. 7, 1944, No. 24527. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 25, 1945.] [Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group II] The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes a method of cutting metal by applying to it, while rotating, an electrode held normal to the work, to which electrode is given a rapid vibration towards and away from the work and at the same time a blast of gas non-combustible with air is directed against the work. As shown, the workpiece 10 is rotated in a lathe and an electrode 13, in a holder 14 arranged to vibrate it rapidly and at the same time supply a blast of compressed air as an envelope round the electrode to the work, is held normal to the work and a current of high amperage and low voltage is passed, causing the work to be undercut. This subject matter does not appear in the Specification. as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 612,412.
