Abstract

612,853. Asymmetrically-conducting resistances. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. May 31, 1946, No. 16552. Convention date, March 28, 1942. [Class 37] A blocking-layer electrode system comprises at least one electrode 2 divided into a number of individual cells, all of these electrode cells bearing upon a common blocking layer and interconnected by connecting members 6 insulated from the blocking layer by insulating material 4 applied at the points where the cells are so interconnected. The connecting members 6 may be of a low melting point alloy applied as by spraying, of the same material as the divided electrode, of conductive lacquer or of a metal which together with the material located below the blocking layer establishes an insulating chemical compound. An example of the latter case is a selenium electrode common to all cells with zinc connecting members. The insulating material 4, upon which the connecting members 6 bear, may consist of a thin layer of polystyrene or synthetic resin lacquer. Specification 601,872 is referred to.
