Abstract
610,248. Supplying liquid fuel. C.A.V., Ltd., and EVANS, F. M. April 2, 1946, No. 10201. [Class 7 (iii)] In a fuel supply system wherein fuel from a tank a is fed by a pump c to injection-pumps e feeding the injection nozzles f, excess fuel and leakage from the pumps and nozzles is returned through pipes j to a separate receptacle h connected by a pipe m to the suction side of the pump c, and a float-controlled valve cuts off flow of fuel through the pipe m when the level in the receptacle h drops. Air is thus prevented from being drawn into the system. A filter g is provided in the fuel pipe b, and the returned fuel is filtered by a screen in the chamber h.
