Abstract

608,830. Windscreen wipers. C.A.V., Ltd., and PRIDDLE, A. T. C. March 5, 1946, No. 6805. [Class 138 (i)] [Also in Group XXIV] A vehicle windscreen wiper is provided with a hollow boss mounted on a driving spindle between which and the boss is arranged a rubber or like resilient sleeve, or a coiled spring. In one form, Fig. 1, a rubber sleeve f is inserted between the driving spindle b and a boss d carrying the wiper arm a. The sleeve f is caused to grip the spindle b by a nut h threaded into the boss d. In a second form, Fig. 2, a rubber sleeve f is arranged between a rigid sleeve j secured to the boss d, and an inner sleeve i secured to the spindle b by a nut h and split sleeve e. In a third form, a coiled torsion spring is arranged between the boss and a sleeve secured to the spindle.
