Abstract

<PICT:0608521/III/1> <PICT:0608521/III/2> A nozzle for applying adhesive to a workpiece has a single opening through which the cement is forced under pressure, the said opening being associated with a plurality of rigid fins separated from one another by intervening spaces which are adapted to spread the cement into lines on the surface of the workpiece or into a band on said surface. The width of the spaces between the pins may vary from one side of the nozzle to the other and a plate to smear the lines of adhesive into a band may be fitted behind the fins. Fig. 1 shows the nozzle a, with an outlet b, and fins c. Fig. 3 shows fins c, with differently spaced openings between them and a plate e, behind the fins.
