Abstract

607,157. Electric couplings. NOVOBAX, Ltd., and SHARMAN, A. V. Jan. 28, 1946, No. 2706. [Class 38 (i)] In a plug of the type comprising an insulating base 1 carrying contact pins 6, 8, the base is provided with a hinged cover 10. The pin 8 is located between extensions 2 of the base which carry hinge pins 12 for the cover 10. The pins 6; 8 are axially slidable, but are held against movement when the cover is closed by bosses 14, 15 on the cover. A bar 4 and screws 5 are provided for clamping the lead-in wires to the plug. An opening 9 is provided so that the connection to the pin 8 can be inspected without opening the cover. A screw 13 is provided in the base for securing the cover in the closed position. Recesses are provided in the base or cover in a manner similar to that described in Specification 577,337 for receiving the lead-in wires and the means for attaching the wires to the pins 6, 8.
