[Class 6(iii)] [Also in Group XXX] In a combined harvester thrasher of the kind in which one or a pair of lateral conveyers 13, 14 of the auger type disposed parallel to the cutter bar is arranged to feed the cut grain to an elevator conveyer 18, the latter is mounted above an inclined surface 17 and is driven by chains carried by three pairs of sprockets 23, 24, 26; the pair 26 allowing pivotal swinging movement of the conveyer, the two pairs 23, 24 being arranged parallel to form a front conveying portion which feeds the grain from the lateral conveyer up to the thrashing machine 10. As shown, grain cut by cutter-bar 12 is fed from the sides centrewards by one or two screws 13, 14 to slatted conveyer 18 which compresses it and elevates it to thresher 10. The pairs of conveyer sprockets 26 and 24 are fixed to the pair of channel bars 27, and the latter are limited in movement by fixed pins 32, 33 and by movable pins 41 at the end of bars 38, pivoted at fixed point 39, so that with increase of grain the slatted conveyer may hinge about spindle 19 of sprocket 23 and still present to the screws a forward surface 28 at the same distance therefrom.
