605,842. Lathe &c. carriers. HOWARD, S. G. Jan. 7, 1946, No. 587. [Class 83 (iii)] Iri a driving-device for work-pieces carried between centres in grinding-machines, lathes, &c. in which a ring surround ing the work-piece carries a pivoted cam lever engaged by a driving-dog, yielding positioning elements are provided to hold the lever normally in a non-gripping position. The positioning elements comprise spring - plungers 20, 21 mounted in the ring 11 and engaging the pivoted lever 18 having workengaging surfaces 22, 23 whereby drive may be effected in either direction.
