[Class 38 (iv)] To suppress radio-interference generated in a discharge-lamp circuit the ballast choke or resistor is divided into two parts with one part connected in each of the electrode supply leads, and two series connected condensers having the junction point connected to earth are connected between the supply leads on both sides of the double choke or resistor. In the case of a choke, the two windings may be on the same or separate limbs of a common magnetic core and may be tapped to correspond with different supply voltages. According to the Provisional Specification the condensers may be omitted and stray capacity relied upon.
