Abstract
603,480. Ensuring uni-directional rotation of electric motors. SMITH & SONS (ENGLAND), Ltd., S., and ELLIS, J. W. Jan. 15, 1946, No. 1388. [Class 80 (iv)] In a uni-directional starting device for synchronous electric motors, of the type described in Specification 419,767, [Group XXXV], in which frictional drag on a stop member 15 moves its end into the path of a pin 13 on a member rotated by the motor, if the motor should start in the wrong direction, the stop member 15 is provided with two parts 18 resiliently urged apart into frictional engagement with rotatable members 10, 12 in such a manner that the reactions thereon balance one another.
