[Class 59] An improvement in the waste disposal apparatus for attachment to a sink described in the parent Specification comprises the addition to the rotatable element or flywheel 15 of upwardly projecting lugs 31a spaced radially inward from its periphery for engaging material to be comminuted at the central portion of the element. Such lugs may be pyramidal with their radially outer faces 31d tapered inwardly and their outer forward edges 31e rounded. Also, in place of or in addition to shearing surfaces 34, the flywheel may have shearing surfaces 40, Fig. 6, formed on the end of a bar 41 projecting radially from its periphery, or 43, Fig. 7, formed on the end of a bar 44 pivotally mounted in a slot in the flywheel so as to have a slight up and down movement therein. A " wear-resisting " top 17 is also shown on the flywheel.
