Abstract

In reforming hydrocarbons by the process of the parent Specification wherein, after periodic regeneration of the catalyst, the same is purged with hydrogen-containing gas at a pressure substantially less than that of the reforming, a purge with inert gas is effected prior to the regeneration. The inert gas may be nitrogen but preferably spent regeneration gas containing less than 6, preferably less than 2 per cent oxygen. The purge is continued for about 15 minutes and may follow a purge with hydrogen or recycle gas, both purges being at about the pressure used in the reforming.ALSO:In reforming hydrocarbons by the process of the parent Specification wherein, after periodic regeneration of the catalyst, the same is purged with hydrogen-containing gas at a pressure substantially less than that of the reforming, a purge with inert gas is effected prior to the regeneration.
