Abstract
<PICT:0597758/III/1> A duplicating-machine, more particularly of the type in which a copy sheet and a master sheet bearing in reverse script the matter to be reproduced are passed in pressure contact between a cylinder 12, which carries the master sheet and a pressure roller 13, and in which the copy sheet before coming in contact with the master sheet is acted upon by a moistening device which includes a stationary absorbent pad 15, which is kept damp by liquid drawn from the tank 16, has provided for the latter, a hinged shrouding plate 20, which when in the operative position conceals the filling orifice 19, and carries a resilient pad 23, which under these conditions forms a liquid-tight closure for the orifice. To the inner face of the shrouding plate a stiffening device 22 is attached to which the resilient pad may be secured. The shrouding plate can be retained in its operative position by the weight of a feed tray 24. The filling orifice may be provided with a raised rim upon which the resilient pad can be seated.
