596,753. Cartons; opening boxes. ROBINSON, Ltd., E. S. & A., BEALE, W. H., and COOPER, A. B. Aug. 2, 1945, No. 19894. [Classes 18 and 66] The top of a carton for powdered or granular material is formed by glueing together joint flaps A<2>, B<2>, C<2>, D<2> extending from the side panels, a portion B' of the lowermost flap B<2> being free of glue, and a tab A<3> is provided on the flap A<2> so that the flap A<2> and those above it can be ripped off leaving the flap B' for refolding after use. The carton is made from a single blank. The flaps A<2>, C<2>, D<2> are reinforced by ribs G, which align when the box is closed.
