Abstract

596,747. Wringers. SUMMERSCALES, W. H. G., HOLMES, W., and HOLGATE, B. R. [trading as W. & S. SUMMERSCALES' SONS]. Aug. 2, 1945, No. 19863. [Class 138 (ii)] In a domestic wringer in which the draining board 1 is pivotally mounted beneath the lower roller 4, one or more arcuate strips 5 of friction material having spaced apart ends secured to the draining board, engage the lower roller to cause the board to tilt in a direction opposite to that of the rotation of the roller. The strips are preferably formed of rubber and are secured to the board by rivets 6.
