[Class 27] The actuating arm f of the coin register F is rocked in one direction (clockwise), preparatory to making a record, by the insertion of a coin K, and is returned to make the record when a hand-operated slider is drawn back. In the apparatus shown, the hand-operated slider is the latch bolt H of a lavatory door lock. The coin K, as it is thrust through the slot D, rocks a lever C which rocks a second lever E to bring a recess e<5> down to a roller h on the bolt H. The lower end of lever E is coupled to the actuating arm f of the coin register F, and simultaneously rocks the arm f (clockwise) ready for making the record. When the bolt H is drawn back by the outside handle j, to which it is coupled in the usual way by the inserted coin, the roller h rides out of the recess e<5> and along a straight portion e<4> of the second lever E, rocking it back and with it the arm f of the register to record the coin. When the lever E is thus rocked back, movement of the latch bolt H on slamming the door to, or operating the inside handle, is without further effect until a further coin is inserted to bring the recess e<5> down to the roller h.
