[Class 100 (i)] [Also in Group XL] A tab for use in splicing the leading end of a new web of paper or other flexible material in a printing, wrapping, winding or other machine to an old web running past it, comprises two portions separably connected by a weakened portion and adapted to be secured to the surface of the new roll and to the leading end of the new web respectively and a control actuator on the web engaging portion. The constructions of tab described are identical with those described in connection with Figs. 4, 5 and 9 of Specification 594,597. Specifications 555,707 and 572,659 also are referred to.
