Abstract
594,079. Face shields. MINE SAFETY APPLIANCES CO. July 21, 1944, No. 14003. Convention date, July 8, 1943. [Class 97 (i)] A shield, particularly for industrial workers, comprises a band 4 adapted to extend round the front of the wearer's head, and a vizor 7 of transparent material such as synthetic resin and curved at its upper edge into a flange 8 hooked over the band 4 and secured thereto by C-clips 9 so as to be readily removable therefrom. The band may be fastened to a helmet or to a circular strap fastened to the head and carrying a spark guard protecting the upper part of the head and engaging a pin 12 The band 4 is hinged to the strap by apertures 5 engaging studs therein.
