[Class 100 (i)] In a web-folding and associating mechan ism for use with rotary printing-machines wherein one or more guide-rollers are provided for changing the direction of travel of a number of longitudinally folded webs, one or each of the guide rollers comprises a number of coaxial contiguous and relatively-rotatable sections, arranged so that one of the sections engages the folded edge o the webs and another section engages the webs at their free edges. As shown, Fig. 2, the rollers 13 guiding the webs from a former 11 into association with webs from a former 10 are constructed with the relatively-rotatable sections. In one construction, one part of the roller 13 which extends for the major part of its length is secured to the roller-shaft and the other part is mounted on ball-bearings on the shaft. In Fig. 4 a number of sections 22 are mounted on ball-bearings on the shaft 14 between two fixed flanged collars 25, and those at one end are connected together and to the shaft by rods 28 having threaded parts 30 screwed into the flanges 29 and passing through holes 27 in the sections. By providing rods 28 of different lengths, the number of sections coupled together can be varied. A number of sections can be connected without attaching them to the shaft by dispensing with the flanges 29 and providing tapped holes in the end section 22 to receive the parts 30 of the rods 28.
