Abstract

593,660. Needle threaders. FEUERHEERD, E. M. June 19, 1945, No. 15615. [Class 112] A device for threading needles includes an element provided with an aperture, means for guiding the ends of a thread, towards said aperture, means for locating a needle with its eye disposed between the guide and the aperture and in registration with the latter, and means for sucking a current of air through the guide and aperture. An element 23, Fig. 6, has a bore 25 fitted with a stop 26 for locating' a needle 31 with its eye in registration with a suction aperture 29 and a conical guide bore 30. The element has a spigot which is a push fit in socket 21 in a hand-operated pump 10, Fig. 1. The device may be moulded from synthetic resin. According to the Provisional Specification the pump may be replaced by a flexible tube fitted to the spigot and provided with a mouth-piece. An element with a V-section groove on its upper surface for locating the needle is also described.
