593,612. Fuselages; skids. BOULTON PAUL AIRCRAFT Ltd., NORTH, J. D., and CLARK, B. F. June 9, 1945, No. 14652. [Class 4] A fuselage, of which the framework 1 includes bulkheads 2, 3 and 4, contains a skid 5 bolted to the bulkhead 2 and supported at bulkheads 3, 4 by resilient cylindrical members 7. Panels 9 are detachably secured to the skid 5 and to the framework 1 so as to be replaceable after a crash landing ; the skid in addition to taking the shock serves to protect vulnerable parts such as a duct for propulsive gases lying along the underside of the fuselage.
