Abstract
593,124. Supports for pottery - kiln shelves. GROCOTT, T., and GROCOTT, W. July 17, 1945, No. 18267. [Class 87(i)] [Also in Group XII] Props or supports for the bats or shelves of pottery kilns comprise a number of superimposed parts, at least two adjacent parts having spherical interengaging ends 2, 5 so that the prop accommodates itself to unevenness of the kiln floor. Bevelled margins 6 surround the spherical convex and concave zones, to permit freedom of accommodation movement. The prop parts have castellated ends 3 to interlock with similar ends on adjacent parts. The parts may be made of refractory material such as fireclay or porcelain.
