[Class 132 (iii)] [Also in Group XVII] A toy money-box comprises a hollow case representing a grotesque animal with body, head and tail, the head and tail being each pivoted, the head carrying a device for holding a coin edgewise, the tail being connected to a spring- urged device by which movement of the tail is utilized to flick the head upwards about its pivotal axis and to toss the coin into a slot in the body of the animal. The coin receiving slot is provided with a pivotal closure so that it opens concurrently with the movement of the head. The spring-urged device comprises a bar extending from the tail, the end opposite to the tail being engaged loosely in a hole or aperture in the rear portion of the head, and a spring mounted on the bar so that pressure is applied on the head causing it to be flicked upward by a movement of the tail. Figs. 1 and 2 show the toy in the form of a grotesque elephant. The body 10 of the elephant is hollow and supplies a receptacle 11 for coins. For convenience in construction the body is made in two parts with a junction provided with an inner flange and held together by screws 13. The head 15 is pivoted about its centre 17, its movement being constrained by stops 18a so that the effect of a tossing head is produced. The trunk 18 is upturned and carries a device 19 to seat a coin 20 edgewise, so that an upward flick of the head will toss the coin into a slot 21 (Fig. 2) normally closed by a pivoted lid 22. This lid has an arm 23 connected by a flexible element 24 to the head. The coil 16 is pivoted at 25 and is extended inwardly by a bar 26 passing through an aperture 27 in the head. A coil spring 28 is sleeved on the bar and shouldered at the tail end thereof. By this means an upward movement of the tail causes an upward toss of the head with simultaneous opening of the slot to receive the coin.
