Abstract
591,677. Pocket lighters. METAL PRODUCTS (TREFOREST), Ltd., and GOLDSTEIN, B. April 27, 1945, No. 10673. [Class 75 (iii)] [Also in Group XXII] A pocket lighter comprises a body A consisting of a block of metal, such as brass, having cavities for volatile fuel and other adjuncts made as by drilling. The top of the body may be machined to provide a slot for a pivoted wick-cap having a shallow recess engaged by a spring-pressed pillar in a chamber B' to impose a light restraint on the opening and closing of the cap. An upstanding portion A' of the body may have an overhanging portion A' provided with a tapped hole for the friction wheel spindle, a spring-pressed flint being housed in a passage K, bored in the portion A'. A chamber B<2> may hold a small packet of flints, and the chambers B<1>, B<2> may be tapped to receive screw stoppers, the stopper of the chamber B<2> being integral with a small screwdriver. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 577,342.
