[Class 98 (ii)] Photographic sheet material is carried through a processing operation by means of endless belts running on upper and lower rollers, there being in each unit a centre and two outer endless loops, the two outer loops moving in a clockwise direction and the centre loop in an anti-clockwise direction, large diameter discs being provided on the lower rollers for directing the travelling sheet from one pair of webs to the other. The sheet 1 passes through a slot 5 in the casing into the receiving zone 24 of the unit and between two aligning bands 2, 3 passing down into the processing tank 8. Upon reaching the lower bar 9 of the centre loop, the paper is detached from between the bands 2, 3, but the discs 13, 14 on the lower bar 10, 11 respectively guide the paper round and between bands 3, 15 of the centre and outer loops. At the upper end, the sheet 1 is guided out of the discharging zone 26 by the spool or disc 19. Endless belts 21, 22 convey the paper to the receiving zone 24 of another similar unit. The cylindrical driving bars 6, 7, 17, 18 are driven through gears from a driving shaft and motor, the other shafts 9, 10 being driven from the former bars through the endless belts 2, 3.
