Abstract

588,879. Shock indicators. WATSON, P. H. March 8, 1945, No. 5839. [Class 4] [Also in Group XIX] A shock indicator of the accelerometer type, having one degree of freedom, comprises a bolt 11, secured to a base plate 12. A mass 25 is mounted on the stem and rides slidably on a sleeve 22, between a stop washer 23 and a nut 13. Two spring tongues 27 are secured to the mass 25 and engage over a smoothly rounded collar 24 suspending the mass, as shown in Fig. 1. A resetting lever 29 projects through the transparent cover 20, enabling the mass to be raised from a dropped position.
