Abstract
588,126. Band clips. SOLAR AIRCRAFT CO. Jan. 31, 1945, No. 2444. Convention date, Aug. 14, 1944. [Class 44] In a band clip of the type in which a bolt member is attached to one end of the band and extends through a sleeve on the other end of the band, a non circular part on the non- threaded portion of the bolt co-operates with a corresponding non-circular part of the sleeve to prevent relative rotation. The bolt 12, Fig. 1, is welded to one end of the band 10, and has a portion 19 of square section housed in the sleeve 11, which is of rectangular section and is formed from a blank of the shape shown in Fig. 4 and welded to the end of the band 10. The front wall 22 of the sleeve forms an abutment for the nut 13, and is made with an aperture for the passage of the bolt. In an alternative form, the socket member, Fig. 5, is formed from two pieces 30, 34, formed to shape, and welded together. The socket member may alternatively be formed integrally with the band.
