Abstract
587,498. Wireless signalling. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and ESPLEY, D. C: Nov. 6, 1944, No. 21757. [Class 40 (v)] A carrier-wave relay system adapted to transmit signals covering a wide band of frequencies, such as television signals, comprises a number of link stations, arranged so that at least one of the link stations transmits positively modulated waves, and at least one other link station transmits negatively modulated waves. A carrier-wave positively -modulated by a television signal, Fig. 2 (a), falls to a minimum at the crests s of the synchronizing signals and rises to a maximum at the highest light intensity h, while a negatively modulated carrier, Fig. 2 (b), has its maximum at the crests s of the synchronizing signals and falls to a minimum for the highest light intensity h. Preferably, successive link stations transmit waves modulated in opposite senses.
