[Class 37] In a polyphase induction type electricity meter, the rotor is operated upon by three torque producing units equally spaced around the portion not occupied by brake magnets. Each shunt unit is provided with a pivotally mounted iron keeper, and with a slidable copper ring for power factor correction. Each series unit may be provided also with a copper vane adjustable across the pole faces for calibrating purposes and friction compensation. All adjustments are accessible without necessity for disturbing the meter mechanism. The equally-spaced torque units a, b, c, Fig. 1, operating on the rotor d, are provided with keepers g, Fig. 1, 2, those at the sides of the meter being carried on rods h adjustable from the knurled heads i. The keeper g at the back is carried on a shaft j and adjusted from the slotted shaft o by means of the pinions k, n and the rack m. A copper ring q, Fig. 5, is adjustably mounted on each of the shunt units by means of a slide r which is raised or lowered by the screw s provided with a knurled collar t and threading in the guide bracket u.
