583,707. Making cased hollow-ware. ELKINGTON & CO., Ltd., and WEAVER, W. J. Nov. 20, 1944, No. 23026. [Class 83 (ii)] In a method of making cooking and like vessels having an inner lining and an outer covering of different metals, blanks of the two metals are superimposed and formed into the shape of the vessel by deep drawing, which operation also inseparably unites the two layers. A liner blank 1 of nickel and an outer covering blank 2 of copper are superposed and are drawn together to form the shape of a saucepan to which a handle or handles may be secured. If desired the liner blank may be larger than the blank of the outer covering, the upper extending edge of the liner then being rolled over the upper end of the outer member at 5 to form a strengthening and decorative finish. Two forms of rolled edge are shown in Figs. 5 and 6. In cases where a comparatively deep vessel is to be made the blanks may be partially shaped before being superimposed for the final shaping operation. A foil of bonding material such as tin may be interposed between the two blanks.
