Abstract

578,571. Carding-flats. WALSH, D. July 11, 1944, No. 13234. [Class 120 (i)] A carding engine flat 3 is provided with a baffle 4, preferably of L-shape, mounted at 6, 7 for limited vertical and swinging movement, the baffle covering the space 9 between two adjacent flats and being furnished with means, e.g., stops 8 which, by contact with the adjacent flat, prevent the baffle from being trapped between them as the gap therebetween closes after rounding a curve. The baffles extend the full length of the flats and prevent fluff &c. from passing between flats into the atmosphere.
