578,205. Separating liquids. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR. March 21, 1944, No. 5278. Convention date, March 6, 1943. [Class 46]. Apparatus for gravity separation of liquids comprises a container 1, Fig. 1. provided with spaced discs 5 having holes, slots or the like 8 arranged to form channels for the passage of liquid to the spaces between the discs, the liquid mixture being supplied through a feed pipe 2 to a compartment 7 which has a volume considerably greater than that of a space between the adjacent discs. The lighter liquid flows out through a pipe 3 and the heavier liquid through a pipe 4. In a modification shown in Fig. 4, the discs 5 are of conical form, and the lighter liquid is collected in a chamber 13 provided with a steam coil 14.
