577,189. Collapsable tubes. RAPER, G. B. Dec. 17, 1943, No. 21187. [Class 66] [Also in Group VI] A collapsable tube, to hold a condiment, sauce, food essence, toilet preparation, medicament &c. comprises a tube or pod c, Fig. 3, of which the lower part b is flattened, preferably after it has been coated inside with a sealing medium, to give a tag-like extension. In a modification, the containers j, Fig. 8, may be secured at its flattened end l to the bifurcated end m of the stalk k by an adhesive or other means. After filling the capsule, the open end e may be coated internally with a thermo-plastic or other sealing material e<1>, flattened and sealed, or it may be flattened and sealed externally by a film of suitable material or by a material adhesively attached. To make the capsule fracture easily, the wall adjacent to the seal may be weakened by scoring or thinning. The surface of the capsule may be coated with a thermo-plastic film.
