Abstract
575,309. Electroplating. McGILL, E. F. G. Aug. 2, 1944, No. 14803. [Class 41] [Also in Group II] Articles to be electro-plated are first provided with a coating of sodium or potassium bisulphate which may be applied by dipping the articles into the melted salt at a temperature of about 300C. to 350C. Chrome-iron alloys containing for example 23 per cent. of chromium may be so treated before being plated with nickel or copper, and the process may be applied to chrome-iron pins which are to be sealed in the glass envelope of an electron discharge device.
