574,954. Variable-pitch propellers. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., ' and SEEWER, P. W. Dec. 23, 1943, No. 21523. Addition to 574,098. [Class 114] In a variable-pitch propeller, a tubular hydraulic connection is made to the hub in accordance with the parent Specification and a meshing gear-wheel motor is driven through this connection, bevel pinions on the blades gearing with bevel pinions which themselves gear with a wheel coaxial with the propeller. The blades carry bevels 20 actuated by a bevel pinion 21 on a shaft carrying a gearwheel 24 coacting with a pinion or ring of pinions 25 to form the servomotor having supply and discharge ducts 10c, 10d which connect with passages formed by longitudinal partitions and an inner tube in a tube 6 led into the nose of the propeller. The inner tube encloses a cable passing round an eccentric or coiled iound a drum on a blade spindle at one end and connected at the other end to an indicator or follow-up valve device.
