Abstract
573,838. Tanks. WILKINSON, B., and LE GOOD, K. M. Sept. 20,1940, Nos. 14377/40 and 10726/41. [Class 69 (i)] A fuel tank comprises walls of flexible sheet material surrounded by a protective selfsealing layer of a rubber composition having the combination of properties possessed by the composition known under the Registered Trade Mark " Linotex " and made by the process described in Specification 437,928, [Group V]. The fuel-retaining wall may consist of fabric proofed with neoprene, and having an external layer of doped fabric, treated leather, treated asbestos, or the like, and there may be a similar external layer bonded to the selfsealing composition. The self-sealing composition is preferably applied in a number of layers bonded together and with staggered joints.
