573,309. Moulding and hardening artificial stone. DOWSETT ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION, Ltd., DOWSETT, H. L., and BARBER, R. S. V. April 12, 1943, No. 5847. [Classes 22 and 87 (ii)] Pre-stressed reinforced concrete sleepers and similar beams of the kind described in Specifications 338,864, [Class 87 (ii)], 364,621 and 393,576 are produced in long production lines separated by stout walls, sets of parallel reinforcing wires subjected to high tension being arranged above the production lines, series of moulds being assembled round the wires and filled with concrete, the ends and top of the filled production lines then closed and steam or a spray of hot water introduced until the concrete has set and cured. Two sets of production lines may be arranged in tiers between adjacent walls 12, and the moulds 16 can run on rollers 17 on the tiers. A steam pipe 19 or hot water conduits and sprays are provided and condensed water is collected and led away through fixed channels 20.
