573,012. Flexible pipes. SWAIN, F. E. and DARBY, D. May 4, 1944, No. 20125. Divided out of Complete Specification of 573,011. [Class 99 (ii)] A flexible pipe comprises a flexible lining 12, an outer layer comprising a series of dished washers 13, or a helical winding having a form corresponding to the dished washers, and terminal coupling members 14 secured to the lining to hold the washers or helical winding in place. The washers may be alternately rigid and flexible. The dished surface of the washers may be spherical. The lining may be held in tension whilst the pipe is assembled. An outer covering secured to the coupling members may be provided.
