571,461. Stripping cables. HARVEY, H. H. May 31, 1944, No. 10484. [Class 36] A device for stripping cables comprises a body member with two or more passages for the cables and a cutter having its edges extending into two of the passages. In one form, Figs. 1, 2, the body of wood, metal, or plastic, is in two parts 11, 12 with end pieces 13, 14 secured by metal straps 16, 18 and forming passages 28, 30 for cables 32, 34. Parts 11, 12 are secured together by bolts 24 and contain a razor blade 38 which is pivoted at 40 and extends into the passages 28, 30. The body and ends are secured together by a metal strap 20 and the cutter blade is adjusted about the pivot 40 by the eccentric end of a screw 48. This screw has a slotted end or a handle 54, and in the latter case stop pins 56, 58 are provided. In a modification, Fig. 4, the centre is in three parts 11, 12, 60 and two blades 38, 66 are provided, with an adjusting screw for each blade, the screws being operated from opposite sides. The passages 28, 30, 62, 64 are of different size for different cables.
