Abstract

569,869. Gas meters. GLOVER & CO., Ltd., T., and McINTOSH, W. B. Dec. 9, 1943, Nos. 20582/43 and 16569/44. [Class 54] In gas meters in which slide valves are given a gyratory movement over the valve grids, the valve grids have a central elliptical port and outside ports, the inner edges of which correspond with the edges of the central port, the valves having a central, dome-shaped, elliptical recess. In the form shown, the valves 2 are rigidly connected to arms 3 operated by the tangent spindle crank 4, and are fitted with slotted arms 7 engaging fixed studs 10a. They thus execute a gyratory motion over the valve grids having central elliptical ports 1a and crescent-shaped outer ports lb. In a modification, the arms 7 and studs 10a are replaced by radial arms pivoted to the valves.
