Abstract

569,617. Air filters. ST. GEORGE'S ENGINEERS, Ltd., WILSON, F. W., and ARMITT, A. Oct. 29, 1943, No. 17879. [Class 8 (ii)] A series of filter bags are arranged in a casing divided into a lower entry part with hoppers C, and an upper outlet part, by a horizontal plate with holes fitted with ferrules d<1> secured to the lower ends of the bags, which lower ends contain attached metal sleeves A<1> passing through the holes. The upper ends are closed and attached to shaking means, e.g. frames F tiltably mounted and each carrying two rows of bags. Alternatively the bags may be reciprocated vertically through rods connected to levers acted on by cams and rollers, or may be fitted with pulleys by which they may be given a twisting motion.
