Abstract

569,166. Bricks. WOODALL-DUCKHAM (1920), Ltd., and COWLEY, A. R. July 16, 1943, No. 11574. [Class 87 (i)] A brick with a majority of the principal faces flat has on at least two opposite faces 1, 5 a number of ribs 3, 6 equally spaced from one another and spaced apart at least twice the cross-sectional width of the ribs, the outermost ribs on each face being set back from the adjacent parallel edges of the brick; the brick shown has the ribs 3 on the end 2 continuous with those on the top 1 and ribs 6 on the end 4 continuous with those on the bottom 5. When the bricks are superposed 'the ribs on one face enter the mortar spaces 7 between the ribs of the adjacent brick as shown in Fig. 8. In the case of L- or T-shaped bricks the ribs, if any, on the side parts may be spaced wider apart.
